Good morning, Hartsville High. It is time for your mid-morning announcements.

Students violating the restrictions on the “No Turn” signs posted at the exit gates of the student parking lot are subject to having their parking tags impounded and their parking privileges suspended.

The elevator in Building 3 is off limits to all students excepting those who have permission to use it.  Any students riding the elevator without permission will be assigned Sunset School.

Help save your future by protecting the rain forest.  Mrs. Hunt’s first period class is selling t-shirts for $14 to raise funds to help with preservation of the Amazon rain forest.  Funds from the sale of the t-shirts will be used to adopt 100 acres of land and protect it from timbering and farming encroachment. Anyone interested in purchasing a t-shirt should see Mrs. Hunt in Room 313 or one of her first period students.

Clubs and organizations

Today is the deadline for the NHS’ fundraiser. NHS members must submit their orders and money before leaving school tomorrow.

All senior trip doughnut sellers must submit orders and money to Mrs. Amerson by noon today.  No late orders will be accepted.

The Beta Club will induct new members Sunday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. in the Media Center.  Any current members who attend this event will receive two service hours.  All inductees are expected to attend.

The French Club and French Honor Society will meet Monday, Nov. 23, immediately after school in Room 401 to discuss the Christmas service project.  This is a good opportunity for every member of both groups to meet the club membership requirement to participate in at least one service project each                                                                                                                                         year. 
Anchor Club Gobble grams are due to today for delivery Monday.

Sports

All boys interested in playing on the boys’ golf team should plan to meet at the Hartsville Country Club on Monday, Nov. 23, at 4 p.m.

Anyone interested in purchasing a homecoming t-shirt needs to see Mrs. Chapman in Room 118 after school.  They are available for $10 on a first come, first serve basis.

The Varsity football team will travel to Northwestern in Rock Hill for the second round of the state playoffs tonight. The game begins at 7:30. All students, faculty, and Red Fox fans from around the world are asked to join the excitement in Rock Hill. Directions to the stadium are available in the Main Office.

Good morning, Hartsville High. It is time for your mid-morning announcements.

Any vehicle parked in the student parking lot without a valid HHS parking tag displayed in a visible manner is subject to being impounded with a parking boot, which costs $25 to be removed.  DCIT parking tags are not an acceptable substitute for HHS tags and should not be obstructing HHS tags. Tags should be hanging on the rear view mirror of the vehicle so the tag number is facing outward and easily read. Students may purchase parking tags through Mrs. Easterling in the Main Office during mid-morning announcements. Drivers will need their driving license, insurance card, state auto registration card, and $5 to purchase a parking tag.

Ninth graders needing help in math or English should attend the free tutoring sessions after school today, 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in Room 312 for Math and Room 303 for English. You don’t have to sign up to attend.  If you need help with any assignments, bring your work with you.

Students are reminded that the classroom buildings are off-limits in the mornings until 7:55. Students should use the restrooms in the cafeteria if necessary.

Student drivers are not allowed to park in any parking spaces marked with red curbing, which are reserved for bus drivers. Student cars parked in the red spaces will be subject to impounding with a parking boot and a fine of $25 to have the boot removed.

The speed limit on school grounds is 15 mph.  Exceeding the speed limit may result in loss of parking privileges. Slow down for everyone’s safety.

Students are banned from using any electronic devices that have cell phone capabilities on campus until school is dismissed. Such devices must be stored in book bags and turned off.  Violations may result in the device being impounded.

Friday is the last day for students to bring food items for the Hartsville Food Bank and items for the Carolina Kids Closet.  Please help those in need this season by bringing one item of non-perishable goods and giving it to your first period teacher.

The Misters in Action will meet in Room 301 today after mid-morning announcements to discuss reading at North Hartsville Elementary School.

A recruiter from the US Marine Corps will be available in the cafeteria during lunch today.
