ABC Awards Program Coming
The Academic Booster Club (ABC) Awards Program will take place next Tuesday, May 13th, at 7:00 pm in the HHS cafeteria. During the evening, many Hartsville High students will be recognized for their numerous academic accomplishments throughout the 2007-08 school year. The SC State Beta Club talent winners from HHS will be performing, along with pre-program entertainment provided by Hartsville High's own Jazz Band. Principal Dr. Charlie Burry and DCSD Superintendent Dr. Rainey Knight will be on hand to recognize those students who have been named Junior Marshalls and Top Ten. The culmination of the program will be the awarding of twenty-five $500 Academic Booster Club Scholarships to deserving applicants. The seniors receiving these scholarships will put the money to good use as they head off to various colleges in the fall. Please join us in the cafeteria on the 13th to help celebrate the achievements of our students.

From the Principal
The mission of Hartsville High School is summarized in the phrase "Preparing for the Future by Learning Every Day." Everything we do at our school is related in some manner to that mission. We want each one of our students, regardless of background or ability, to have the opportunity and encouragement to attain an outstanding education. Having each one of our students graduate and achieve his/her full potential while in our care and under our influence at Hartsville High School is our goal.
The school climate at Hartsville High School is summarized in the phrase "relationships based on respect." That is absolutely the key to having the safe and orderly school that we all want, having the focus on learning that we desire in our classrooms, and having our students develop the healthy personal relationships and solid character traits that we also want them to learn at our school. If everyone is intent on preparing for the future by learning every day while building relationships based on respect, every student who attends Hartsville High School can achieve a great education and have a good time doing it.
